1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SociBooks (socibooks.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users including apartment association committee members, residents, and guests.

2. Description of Service

SociBooks provides a cloud-based accounting and transparency platform for apartment associations and housing societies in India. Features include maintenance billing, expense tracking, Statement of Accounts generation, and resident self-service portals.

3. Account Registration

Associations register through an authorized committee member. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of information entered into the platform. All users authenticate via phone OTP — you are responsible for keeping your phone number secure and up to date.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Enter false or misleading financial data
Attempt to access data belonging to other associations
Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute any part of the platform
Overload or interfere with platform infrastructure

5. Payment Terms

The Starter plan is free of charge. Pro plan subscriptions are billed at ₹999/month (annual billing). Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. Refunds are available within 7 days of payment for annual subscriptions. Contact support@socibooks.com for refund requests.

6. Data Ownership

All financial data entered into SociBooks remains the property of your association. We do not claim ownership of your data. You may export your data at any time. Upon account termination, we will provide a data export upon request.

7. Limitation of Liability

SociBooks is an accounting tool and does not provide financial, legal, or tax advice. We are not liable for financial decisions made based on data in the platform. Our total liability in any matter is limited to the subscription fees paid in the last 3 months.

8. Modifications

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered associations of material changes via email. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
